The Cogwheel Trust International

The Cogwheel Trust was established in 1995, and since that time many hundreds of vulnerable children in India and Uganda have been given hope and the chance of a better future.

We have never strived to be a big organization but prefer to know each child and member of staff personally. Although we are a Christian organisation, a child’s caste, religion, or background is not taken into account. Instead we concentrate on the personal needs of each individual child. Many of our children have suffered trauma’s and abuse in their young lives. Others have learning difficulties or medical issues such as Polio, TB and HIV. Others have lost parents and live with elderly grandparents who struggle to care for them. Initially we concentrated on providing children’s homes but today we have our own primary school with a boarding section for the most vulnerable children and also help others in the community while they stay in their own homes.

The Cogwheel Trust is run by a board of directors in the UK who meet on a regular basis. We only have two paid members of staff who manage the Trust, one of which is part time. This enable us to make sure all money given for the work goes where it is intended with as little as possible going on administration.

We are financially supported entirely by child sponsorships, donations, and fundraising.
